Holiday 2017 Gift Guide: Misters
Saying "misters" feels a little strange, but in order to be fair, I just had to create a gift guide for the guys in our lives. Brothers, friends with great taste, or, if you're lucky, a boyfriend or husband. They deserve a little bit of high quality love too especially when it comes to things they may not even realize exist. Let's face it, some of them aren't known for their quality choices, right? This guide is filled with some interesting, unique, and thoughtful gifts. I mean, who else is going to enjoy a chocolate salami or a meat subscription box service? What I've learned in life are boys are pretty complex, but there's a few universal interests.
2017 Holiday Gift Guide: Sisters
I was too young to fully understand what my parents were saying when they told me I was gonna be a big sister. I think once I figured it out the family photos of me looking less than impressed holding my new baby sister said it all. But really my sister and I were the only kids around growing up in my family for the most part so we got into a lot of trouble together. We may have had disagreements about who "borrowed" (stole) what from who and she may have been my guinea pig too many times (okay so it was real make up not play make up, mom. Sorry), but I always had her back. No one was ever going to tell her the truth about Santa or let her take the fall for breaking something she never even touched. That's what makes sisters awesome sometimes.
October Edit
I feel like its such a cliche girl thing to say "I can't believe it's already November!," but I genuinely can't believe it. It feels like literally just a couple of months ago it was New Years Day and I was eating those pancakes hungover in a diner feeling so hopeful about 2017. It's such a bummer to realize maybe I should have set the expectation bar just a little lower so I wouldn't be so shocked it's November
My Favorite Horror Movies
As I mentioned multiple times on the blog, I love classic horror movies. Way back when AMC's Fear Fest used to begin with the black and white classics and move up to the modern-day slasher films. Sadly, they've cut the movie marathon down to about a week rather than a month so they tend to strictly focus on the slasher films. At least the streaming services still have them available to watch. Of course, I took a bunch of film classes where we studied the likes of Psycho, The Exorcist, and The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari which gave me a greater appreciation for the classics.
Life Lessons from Horror Movies
I love a good horror movie. Okay scratch that. I love a few select horror movies and none of them are recent. Trust me, just ask anyone who gets incredibly mad at me laughing the entire time because I just cannot suspend my disbelief for two or so hours. I might get into my favorites in another post because I just finished watching the 1979 version of the Amityville Horror and AMC's Fear Fest is going to start in just a few days. Plenty to write about, right?

This weekend I have a little fall break and I use that term loosely. While I have a "break" I'm not much of a break person. I just find something to do or get ahead with so I'm not stressed later. Unfortunately I'll likely be cleaning or organizing, but hopefully I'll get to make some yummy food (or some sea salt chocolate chip cookies at least). As usual here are some really interesting and, hopefully, fun things from around the Internet. Sorry it's a little design centric this time, but those were definitely some interesting reads over the last week or so.
The List: Dog Costumes
I won't lie; I love dressing up my dog. For whatever reason she loves it. On my Instagram you can find her in a rufferee costume, springtime cape, and her Halloween costume last year: pinata. Where normal dogs would be completely irritated and sad by being dressed in clothes many people believe they should not be wearing, Chloe loves it.

Before I take off for what hopefully will be a fun but relaxing weekend, I thought I would share some stuff from around the internet I found interesting. There's tons of different stuff. Maybe you'll need some fun conversation starters over the weekend so check out the stories below. There's a flashlight made of paper, the grossest Instagram account, and even insights into mindful meditation.
