Ah, the weekend. The time where I should be doing a whole lot of nothing, but I'll likely end up stressing about everything I haven't done. You know, the stuff I keep saying I'll do tomorrow or the next day, but then eventually run out of days to do? I feel like I constantly need to be productive or I'm a complete sham of a person. Yikes. Hopefully sometime this weekend I'll manage to binge watch Wet Hot American Summer: 10 Years Later.
Who What Wear x Target - Fall
One consistent topic I always have to share are the new releases from the Who What Wear x Target line. For over a year now each month new releases have been hitting store shelves in order to give us all access to affordable, street style inspired clothes. They are incredibly on trend or really great variations of trends. They are flattering, cost effective, and, of course, stylish. I definitely believe they are essential for the business casual work environment (which is where I wear them most often), but can really be worn anywhere. Dress them up or wear them casually either way you'll feel great in something.
Five for August
I always feel like all I do for posts on this blog is make lists, but I'm just really good at lists. They are really useful for combining tons of stuff all at once without me having to ramble on and on. It's the beginning of a new month (what the heck) so I thought I would try something new. Rather than sharing some of my favorite things from the month at the end of said month, I thought I would share some things everyone should know about at the beginning. Kind of like those release radar or things to do this month articles in magazines.
I Guess 'Millennial Pink' is a Trend
'Millennial Pink' is the color that just won't go away. No seriously, according to New York Magazine, the color is here to stay and we see it so much we don't even realize it. It appears in hair color, drinks, clothing, and even make up palettes. Truth be told it's not even really a color of its own. It's simply a descriptive word for any color pink from cotton candy to a dusty rose or blush. It can even describe the color that falls between beige and peach.
The Time I Tried to Make a Summer Reading List
Every summer there's a thousand summer reading lists where people tell us what we should be reading. Everything from the hottest fiction book (which is apparently Rich People Problems) to those books that are supposed to make our lives better. I mentioned in my summer bucket list my intention to read 3 New York Times Best Sellers so, of course, that meant making a list of books I want to read. Here we are, it's nearly August, and I have yet to finish one. See, my intentions were good, but I have to try harder to accomplish this. Below you'll find some of the books I still plan to shove into what's left of my summer vacation.

Well, the weekend is finally upon us. I will be taking my heartbroken little self to see The Big Sick. This might possibly be a terrible idea considering it is being called one, if not the, greatest romantic comedy in some time. I suppose maybe there's an upside or some wishful thinking that maybe, just maybe, it will all work out someday. Who knows? If all else fails I will simply embarrass myself with a full on public cry.
Surviving the Heat: Summer Wellness
Initially when I sat down to write this post I wanted to share some things I do to beat the crazy heat during the summer. Shortly I realized it's slightly different for everyone and the biggest tip of them all really is just to stay inside and avoid it all. Then I realized maybe it's best to just share some of the wellness ideas I'm currently incorporating into my life instead. It's summer and I'm currently existing in the harsh Arizona hellscape so I guess these are currently my best tips for surviving the heat.
Mix 08 Summer Take 2
Gather round boys and girls it's time for another monthly playlist. Summer is probably one of the easiest times to make mixes. They just kind of write themselves. There's always something playing that sticks with me and creates a memory for years to come. Whether it's enjoying a nice meal with friends at a restaurant or just simply driving in the car when something funny happens, a memory has the ability to stick to these songs like glue (for better or worse). Rather than zone in on a particular summery theme like pool parties, BBQs, or road trips, I decided to try something a little different.
Connect the Dots
Polka dots are one of my favorite prints. There's just something about them that is cute and fun. That seems like a weird statement coming from me, but it's true. Of course, I would likely never stray from a black and white color combination. I mean why would I? It's a true classic. But from time to time, like with decor or wrapping paper, I enjoy a gold, copper, or rose gold on white. That combination is just clean looking with a little hint of something extra to liven things up.
