I know there is a love/hate relationship many people have with holiday music. Some people love it. Some people hate it. But I genuinely like it. Except, when it basically starts playing on the radio in like…July. There is just something I cherish about listening to 85 covers of the same song while driving around picking up presents and baking. There is just something special about listening to these festive songs while wrapping gifts that makes it a much easier task. Even for a perfectionist like myself.

Welcome to the Land of Stress Baking! The holiday season is peak stress baking time for a couple of reasons. So far I have not made a single thing which feels incredibly weird. But I am ready to start baking. All of my stress has piled on and I am ready to use this weekend for hours and hours of baking. Something I’m sure everyone I know is excited about because they will all reap the rewards. There are THREE staples when it comes to my cookie tins and trays.

As we inch closer to the new year, it’s not unusual to get introspective. Nearly everything on the internet right now is a retrospective of the year. The word of the year, the albums of the year, the Google searches of the year…its hard not to begin thinking about how we’ve spent the last 300 and something days.

Pumpkin Pie is no doubt one of the best things about Thanksgiving and fall in general. I think I’ve tried every pumpkin pie recipe known to man trying to find the very best one. Some just never had the right spice levels and the others just never had the right cook time. But this recipe has become my favorite pumpkin pie recipe.

I love Christmas as much as the next person, but I don’t feel like my entire house should have to look like the scene of a Hallmark movie. Sure. Christmas towns in Hallmark movies don’t seem that bad. They ARE where all hardworking business ladies fall in love after all, but they just aren’t my thing. Getting festive doesn’t mean having to sacrifice aesthetic.

The formula is simple: a mixture of things I need and things I want. But ultimately filled with everything that have caught my eye recently. I just find the art of gift giving incredibly…overwhelming.

It’s been a long couple of months. I haven’t had the time to focus on a proper, themed playlist for November. So instead, I thought I would compile another edition of What I’m Listening To. Where has my head been at this past month? Well, some of the tunes have a bit of a glimpse into my scattered mind while others are just new releases everyone should know about. Where do I even begin?
