MIX NO. 46 // 90s MOVIE SONGS
The idea for this Monthly Mix came to me while driving one day recently. I was hitting all my preset buttons when I stopped on the 90s on 9 where the radio DJ was introducing a long-forgotten hit song from a popular teen movie. Of course, I had to stop and see what it was so while driving and bopping along, it occurred to me there are just so many good 90s movie songs. Especially teen movie songs and voila!
This mix was harder than I expected. First off, since I was growing up at the time my memory smashes everything together so what feels like a 90s movie now was actually the early 2000s. So this mix could have very well just taken that turn which still would be cool. But I realized I already had plenty of killer songs I didn’t even need more. Second, I really wanted to zero in on teen movies but that left me left me alienating some Gen X movies I love because they came before prime teen movie time. I could have really added so many other popular, iconic movie songs in here as well.
