The List: Dog Costumes
I won't lie; I love dressing up my dog. For whatever reason she loves it. On my Instagram you can find her in a rufferee costume, springtime cape, and her Halloween costume last year: pinata. Where normal dogs would be completely irritated and sad by being dressed in clothes many people believe they should not be wearing, Chloe loves it.
Fall Wish List
October might be my favorite month. There's this feeling where everything is changing (yes, dying leaves are great and we don't even have them here), and the weather finally becomes tolerable. There are tons more things to do and explore. So beware for the next month this blog is going to be filled with so many things I love including classic horror movies, chilly weather clothes, and Halloween.
Fall Trends
While browsing the internet there's been tons of posts about what to wear this fall. Everything from the color red to bags with fur accents. There's a lot of time spent saying "why" or "I would never wear this." But then there's also a 99% chance there will be a burgundy/wine colored sweater in my closet in the next 4 weeks. It happens. Since there are so many trends I choose just some of my favorites making them the ones that truly matter.
Trend Tracking: Boyfriend Blazers
The blazer is kinda one of my favorite wardrobe pieces because it can do a number of things. It can elevate anything else I'm wearing and make it look much more interesting. This is especially true when it comes to graphic tees (something I own far too many of). They make nearly any outfit work appropriate or a little more fancy for situations where it's called for. They can also be pretty sexy from time to time when done right (if you're daring enough to rock a bra but not a shirt).
Mix No. 10: #MOOD
Sometimes I just get in a #mood I can't explain, but when making this playlist it became pretty clear just what was causing the feeling. I constantly battle with how personal to be on my blog because it's really scary to just put all your feelings out there into the void. Despite that being the entire point of a blog in the first place, right? It doesn't have to be some fake, robotic, heavily curated space. It should be personable and real. That said, you never really know whose reading it, but here goes nothing.
What to Buy: Summer to Fall
But just think of this post as an excuse to go shopping or something. Summer to fall is a weird time. It goes from being 100+ every day to being 70 overnight. It's hard to make really good outfit choices because one second I'm a little chilly but by 4pm I'm sweating like crazy. There are tons of suggestions on what to do in order to transition a wardrobe between seasons. Keep wearing your favorite sundress but toss on a cardigan (duh). Wear sweaters with shorts. Change out your cute sandals for ankle boots although I actually saw Glamour magazine making a case for wearing your sandals. To each their own I suppose.
Waiting (Impatiently) for Sweater Weather...
The Pumpkin Spice Latte is officially back at Starbucks which means fall is almost here. Okay maybe it's only the beginning of September and still an average of 106 degrees outside daily, but fall is coming. Even my local Target got in on the action albeit prematurely by featuring three straight mini aisles of pumpkin flavored goods (which had been completely ransacked). I already bought pumpkin spice coffee creamer and I am ready to be rocking sweaters daily.
