FIVE FAVORITES: AUGUST

Long time, no chat. I’m back with some of my current favorite things, including a snack, an ADHD lifesaver, how I’m cleaning my house, and more.

Ooey-Gooey Plant-Based Cookies

Toto, $33 for a box of 10

These cookies are like a warm hug in snack form. I was skeptical at first, of course. They are vegan, gluten-free, and loaded with fiber and plant-based protein. They could really go either way. But these are incredible. They literally taste like a cinnamon roll! They’re perfect for the afternoon pick-me-up or for breakfast without the dreaded sugar crash later. It’s honestly one of my favorite finds since I had to really focus on my diet after being diagnosed with Hashimoto’s. I haven’t found a flavor I don’t like, but cinnamon roll is my all-time favorite right now. I feel like I’m constantly battling the supply at the local grocery store! Time to stock up online!

My Perfectly Sun-Kissed Glow

Saltyface, $78

Of course, I pride myself on always looking perfectly sun-kissed, and this summer, this Saltyface duo has become my go-to for an effortless glow. The mineral sunscreen is lightweight, blendable, and doesn’t leave that greasy feeling, making it the perfect sunscreen. The liquid bronzer is the ideal amount of bronzer that gives the right amount of “I just got back from vacation” look and can be put directly on specific places as a highlighter or all over the face for a full glow. Heck, I’ve used it instead of makeup on lazy days and still felt 100.

A Blessing for ADHD Sufferers

Tiimo App

Being newly diagnosed with Hashimoto’s and suffering for months with brain fog, along with my usual ADHD, Tiimo has been a godsend. I have been leaning on it like it’s my lifeline. I love the design of the app, the focus timer, and the music tracks you can turn on that help me get into the zone. It’s like the famous lo-fi beats YouTube channel inside a productivity app. The calendar integration could use a little work, but other than that, it’s hard to find something I don’t love about this app.

Summer Never Ends

Pura x Becki Owens Coconut Calm, $38

If there is one scent I refuse to give up, it’s coconut. Luckily, this scent from Becki Owens x Pura is fresh, beachy, and the perfect amount of summer. The Pura system is one of my recent obsessions because of its ability to monitor and schedule fragrances. Each refill lasts up to 120 hours, depending on usage intensity. Mixing and matching all the different options creates a truly custom scent profile tailored to personal preferences, mood, or the time of year. Obviously, my place has been smelling like a vacation paradise, and I’m not mad about that.

Upleveling & Adulting

Levoit Cordless Vacuum Cleaner, $160

I know it sounds a bit off to rave about a vacuum, but this one is genuinely enjoyable to use. It’s cordless, super lightweight, which makes it easy to handle, and it really tackles not only pet hair but my own hair effortlessly. Plus, it reaches all the tricky corners and cleans fabric and hard-to-reach places better than I thought it would. The battery life is quite impressive, providing around 50 minutes of use, which is enough for a few vacuum cycles around my place without needing a recharge. It honestly makes me excited to clean rather than a dreadful chore.
