CHECKING OUT IN MONTAUK
Retail therapy, Hamptons-style - what to buy, where to stay, and the handful of spots worth the drive out East.
THE HAMPTONS HIT LIST
WHERE TO STAY
Gurney’s Montauk
Floor-to-ceiling views, a private stretch of beach, and a spa built around salt water instead of trends. You don’t need a reason to book it. The view is the reason.
WHERE TO UNWIND
Bridgehampton Tennis & Surf Club
BTSC is members-only for a reason. 14 Har-Tru courts, a beachfront gym, and a pool that makes “working out” feel like an overstatement.
WHERE TO HANGOUT
Montauk Yacht Club
The Cabana Spa sits right on the water for yacht-watching. There are floating treatment rooms, weekly yoga, and a 24-hour gym - all worth the trip alone.
WHERE TO DRINK
Sunset Beach, Shelter Island
By day, there are DJs and a crowd dressed for the photo. By night, there’s rosé, linguine with clams and a sunset doing all the work for free.
WHERE TO SHOP
Sagaponack General Store
A general store, but also breakfast, a flower shop, and the perfect place to buy penny candy you most definitely didn’t plan on.
WHERE TO EAT
Nick & Toni’s, East Hampton
Right off Main Street and still the hardest reservation in town. Here, Italian and Mediterranean don’t compete; they just work. Wood-fired, farmhouse chic, and exactly as good as everyone says.
