THE COLORS I’M OBSESSED WITH THIS SUMMER

Why stick to white and tan all summer long? There are colors every season just begging to be worn as a statement piece or straight up thrown into the regular rotation. Just stop fighting it. Below are the four colors I’m obsessed with this summer. The colors I’d reach for when I want to spice things up. The colors I’d love to wear on repeat.

Chartreuse

I love this color. It almost feels unreasonable. It’s sharper than lime, greener than yellow, and it frankly doesn’t try to blend in anywhere. I was hesitant at first because it can be really awful if you’re not careful. But worn in one clean piece like a bag, a shoe, or a slip dress. It plays well, especially against tan skin, which is probably why I love it so much.

Wear it with: cobalt blue if you want maximum impact, or keep it grounded with black and let the color do all the work.

Limoncello Yellow

I was fully over yellow before this one showed up. I couldn’t stand to hear the term “butter yellow” anymore. It had its moment and wore out its welcome for me. It was just a color everyone was wearing and trying very hard. Limoncello has more juice to it, more saturation, and is a choice rather than a trend you fall into. It’s the yellow I actually want to wear.

Wear it with: white denim for something crisp or gold jewelry to lean into the whole citrus-cocktail thing it’s got going on.

Blush Pink

Blush pink is the one I keep coming back to because it does a lot of work - quietly. It’s not trying to be the loudest color in the room. It just complements every other color. It’s just a really pretty, feminine color, and I would reach for it 75% of the time, given most days.

Wear it with: gold hardware and neutral leather. Resist the urge to match it with more pink. One dose is enough.

Cherry Tomato Red

Every summer needs one color that has zero chill, and this year it’s tomato red. It’s warmer and less serious than classic red, more sunburnt than fire engine, and looks incredible on everyone. Something which can’t be said about a lot of reds. I’ve been wearing it in the most casual pieces I own - tanks, a slip skirt, shorts - because it makes the laziest outfit look hot.

Wear it with: white for a clean, high-contrast look, or double down and wear it head to toe if you’re feeling it.

Four colors and zero neutrals holding them back. Pick the one that scares you a little and start there.
